Biking in Roma

Roma is a great place to ride a bike - there are many wide streets, not much traffic, and few hills!

There are about 7 kms of on-road bicycle lanes through out the town of Roma.

Adungadoo Pathway

The Adungadoo Pathway is a shared used (pedestrian and bicycling) off-road facility - 2.5m wide concreted surface. It links the Roma Visitor Information Centre and APEX Park (on Northern Rd) crossing Bungil Creek, running beside Shady's Lagoon and the Long Drain with connections to Edwardes St, George St and Wyndham St. Funding was provided by Roma Town Council and a 'major project' grant from the Qld Department of Sport and Recreation, and constructed by Roma Town Council. It was officially opened on Saturday 17th June 2006. Check out the route on www.bikely.com.

Bicycle Facilities
There are a number of bike (toaster) racks (ggrrrrrrr) around Roma.

St Paul's Anglican Church (corner Bungil and Arthur Streets) and St Paul's Lodge (52 Arthur St) were the first to install bicycle rails which meet the Australian Standards for secure bicycle parking.  Good on ya St Paul's!

Roma Town Council has provided six bike rails, which also meet the Australian Standards, for secure bicycle parking at the intersection of McDowall St and Arthur Streets.
